Q: *Which versions of WinNT are supported?

A: Forum 2.0 will work on the following platforms:

WinNT 3.51, Digital Alpha
WinNT 3.51, Intel
WinNT 4.0, Intel (Required patch located in Readme file)
WinNT 4.0, Digital Alpha

Q: Is there a version for Macintosh, Win3.1, Open VMS, or Linux?

A: AltaVista Forum resides on your server and is accessed through the use of a web browser on your Mac or PC. The client is your browser.

While it will be possible for clients on platforms such as Apple's Mac to access the Forum on a Windows NT server, we are not currently planning on porting the server software to work on any other platforms.

We will continue to evaluate the situation to determine if we'll port our software to a other platforms at a later date. .

Q: How do I buy AltaVista Forum?

A: AltaVista Forum is available from the AltaVista Visionary Store or the AltaVista Partners.

Q: Are there versions in any languages other than English?

A: Forum 2.0 will be available in Spanish, German, French, and Japanese with in 90 days of first customer shipment of the English version.

Q: Is the 25 user license intended for 25 concurrent users, or 25 named users?

A: The 25 user license for AltaVista Forum V2.0 is actually a license for 25 *registered* users (excluding wf_admin), not concurrent users. There are also unlimited user licenses.

Q: Is the SDK distributed with Forum or do we have to purchase that on the side?

A: The complete SDK is included on the AV Forum V2.0 CDROM when you purchase.
